Iran Intellectual Property Center Successfully Transitions to Electronic Document Issuance

The Iran Intellectual Property Center has achieved a significant milestone by successfully implementing electronic document issuance. Henceforth, all required documents for the registration of trademarks, patents, and industrial designs may be issued and delivered electronically through the official portal.
This development completes a key stage in modernising Iran’s IP administration. Certificates, office actions, and other prosecution documents that previously required in-person collection or postal delivery can now be accessed digitally by applicants and their representatives, subject to the Center’s authentication and security procedures.
Benefits of electronic issuance
Electronic document issuance improves transparency and speed for both domestic and foreign rights holders. Representatives can download official correspondence as soon as it is published, reducing reliance on physical courier services and enabling faster responses to examination reports, oppositions, and renewal reminders.
- Official certificates and prosecution documents are available through the IIPC online system.
- Applicants should maintain accurate contact and representative details on the portal.
- Deadlines for responses and renewals continue to apply from the date documents are issued electronically.
- Foreign clients should ensure their Iranian counsel has active portal access to receive documents without delay.
The transition reflects the Center’s commitment to aligning Iranian IP practice with international standards of digital administration. Reza Badamchi & Associates monitors procedural updates and supports clients through every stage of electronic filing and document management.
